What to Buy for Kids

I set up what2buy4kids after becoming frustrated with how difficult it was to find decent kids' birthday presents for friends of my children. Ever since my 3 children started going to birthday parties, I have tried to give children's gifts and presents that are both special and useful, rather than giving a present that will live with the other unwanted gifts at the bottom of the wardrobe!

My thoughts were that if I was finding it difficult to buy a good birthday present, then surely lots of other busy mums, dads, grandparents, aunts and uncles would be finding it hard as well? So I decided to do something about it and to create a website full of great gift ideas for kids. And so what2buy4kids was born in early 2010!

If I can make your job of finding a gift for the children in your life easier, or help you to take some of the time and frustration out of the search for that special birthday gift, then it will all have been worthwhile.

It is also worth mentioning that all of our gifts have been tested by my 3 kids and their friends. I do this so that I can be sure that all of the presents that we offer will be loved by the girls and boys who will ultimately receive them. This is at the heart of everything we do and if we can make children smile when they open their present, then that is all I could ever ask for.

MEET THE what2buy4kids TEAM

Lisa

I get involved in all areas of the business but my main focus is on buying and customer service. In terms of buying, my passion is to find good value gifts and presents that will be loved by young people when they receive them for their birthday or for that other special occasion.

For customer service, my key target is to make sure that we always deliver exceptional customer service which is as good as anything else available on the web. We offer a 24 hour dispatch service and one of my main roles is to make sure that all deliveries go out immediately. This is crucial to us, because we genuinely believe that once you have ordered your items, you really should have them as soon as physically possible. It is just not fair to make you wait for days and days once you have chosen the presents that you want.  

Sophie - Buying

I look after the buying side of the business with Lisa. I love my job because I get to shop everyday! I regularly meet with kids of different ages and show them the new products which I have found, so that we can choose the perfect gifts and presents for the site. I am always looking for new ideas for kids gifts and presents so if you have any new ideas - please let me know!

Jo - Buying

I have just joined the what2buy4kids team and will be helping Sophie in her quest for finding wonderful gifts for kids. I'm a mum of 2 fabulous children, a boy aged 5 and a little girl age 3, so I feel I can really get involved in the buying side of the business, especially when it comes to finding great gifts for children under 7. What's more my kids and their friends are going to be testers for kids' gifts  for children under 7. 

Emma - Distribution

My job involves processing your orders, picking your gifts and posting them out to you as quickly as possible. After more than 2 years of running the website, we have never missed the deadline of getting gifts out within 24 hours, and my role is to make sure that this happens - every time!
