Hello and welcome to what2buy4kids.
My name is Lisa and I set up what2buy4kids in 2010 after becoming frustrated with how difficult it was to find decent kids' birthday presents for my children’s friends. Ever since my three children started going to birthday parties, I have tried to give gifts that are both special and useful, rather than giving a present that will live with the other unwanted gifts at the bottom of the wardrobe!
My thoughts were that if I was finding it difficult to buy a good birthday present, then surely lots of other busy parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles must be finding it hard as well. So I decided to do something about it.
The result is what2buy4kids – a website full of great gift ideas that kids will love combined with an outstanding customer service that adults will appreciate.
Over the years the website has grown and grown and I now have over 15 people who help me run the business. We all share the same thoughts and ideas - and we all love to help people to find the gift or gifts that are perfect for the child in their life.

Unlike some online retailers, we only sell gifts for kids. This means we can put all of our efforts into what we do best – finding the presents that kids will love and providing a great service to the adults that buy them.

Meet Some of The Team
Lisa – Founder and General Manager
I get involved in all areas of the business and the day-to-day running of what2buy4kids. No job is too big or too small- I love being a part of everything. I oversee all aspects of the business in the warehouse, in the office, online and in our shop. My main focus is on product management and customer service and I am always available for my team and our customers. In terms of product management, my passion is finding excellent quality and great value toys and gifts that will be loved by the children who receive them. It is my aim is to make sure that we always deliver customer service that exceeds expectations and puts a smile on our customer's faces. There is nothing I like more than hearing from satisfied customers and knowing that we have made a child happy!
Emma – Buyer
I love my job because I get to shop every day! I work closely with Lisa when it comes to choosing which gifts to stock on the website and in our shop. I manage relationships with our suppliers, I visit toy fairs and I am always looking for new ideas, as well as ensuring our favourite items are never out of stock. I also regularly meet with kids of different ages for product research, so that we can choose the perfect gifts and presents for the site. I am passionate about the excellent quality items we stock and I love looking for new toys that will delight kids. If you have any suggestions or have seen toys you love - please let me know!
Harriet - Social Media
I help Lisa with the blogs on the website and do lots of research into how we can share our business with the internet! I enjoy sharing our products and I delight in seeing what great items we stock. I love building relationships with customers, businesses and suppliers but what I love most is that as well as selling toys, what2buy4kids cares about the interests of children. I run our weekly activity hour (#KidsActivityHour) on Twitter on Thursdays which shares ideas and activities to delight kids (and their parents!) I look after all of our social media channels from Facebook and Twitter to Pinterest and Instagram. I'd love to hear from you so feel free to follow us or like us!I
Laura – Office Admin & Customer Service
I am the communications arm of the office. I help out with general enquiries from customers and suppliers and I help Lisa respond to the independent customer feedback comments on Feefo. I love hearing from our customers! I also deal with the shipment of all our parcels and liase with Royal Mail if you have any queries. I am well aquainted with our stock in the warehouse so I can answer any of your questions and I can even take your order over the phone. I also get involved in the triple check process of your order, ensuring that you receive the right items in your parcel everytime.
Jacky – Distribution & Stock Control
My job involves processing your orders, picking your gifts and posting them out to you as quickly as possible. I am a huge fan of organisation and systems, so I make sure our stock in the warehouse is organised and in perfect condition. We only sell what we have in stock, and it's my job to make sure the products are in perfect condition and ready to send to our customers. I always dispatch gifts within 24 hours, and my role is to make sure that this happens - every time!
Paula - Gift Wrap Service
I love working for what2buy4kids - there's a great atmosphere in the office and we have lots of fun. My job allows me to use my creative talent. Should you select a gift wrap option, I am responsible for making sure that your gift is beautifully wrapped and packaged and will thrill the recipient from the moment they open the parcel. I love ribbons and paper, I am a stickler for detail and I love a challenge, so I will happliy wrap anything from the smallest party favour to the biggest box we have in stock!
Jenny - Copywriter
My job involves writing the product descriptions for the website. I work closely with Lisa to make sure they are informative and accurate. I keep all the information up to date and hope to make it easy for you to imagine what you are buying. I love the products what2buy4kids sells, and I especially love it when I have to sample the chocolate I am writing about (purely for research purposes, of course!)
Jon - Manager of our Southport Shop
I manage the day to day running of the shop in Southport, from staffing and stock management to customer care. I work closely with Lisa to make sure the stock in our shop mirrors the stock on the website. If we don't have an items in stock in the shop, Lisa will send the item to you from the warehouse, no problem. I am passionate about the customer experience in our shop; it is spacious and open and there's even room for trying out some of our most popular toys. You will find that the layout in the shop is the same as the layout on the site- all items catagorised according to the age of the child. The team and I are happy to answer questions or give advice for finding just the right gift.
